Frequently Asked Questions
If you have other questions, feel free to reach out to us by sending an email to info@treefortindiana.com
Who is eligible to apply for a grant?
We accept applications from any family who is providing a healthy home to a child from crisis. We have limited funds available to us each year and so not every applicant is guaranteed to receive funds. We have a committee that reviews the applications and decides how to disburse the funds annually.
What kinds of things can I request from the grant?
We don’t have a specific list of things that can be requested, however we do prefer to fund applications that show us that the money will clearly impact a child or children who have come from a crisis situation. Our committee often looks for how many children are going to be impacted or how long a child/children will be impacted by the use of the funds. For a list of ideas from previous grants, click here.
What is required of me if I receive a grant?
There is a commitment page that you must sign, pledging that you will use the money in the way in which it is intended to be used. There are two reports required of you once the money has been used. One is a financial report showing receipts for purchases and an itemized listing of how the money was used. The other is an impact report explaining to us the impact that the grant has had on your children and family.
Can I apply for more than one grant?
Only one application per family is accepted each year, but you may apply again (whether you received grant money from us or not) each year as long as you are still providing a healthy family environment to children who come from crisis.
Do you fund organizations?
Typically we do not give to organizations, but rather we focus our giving on individual families.
